THE DUBBING GRAND GALA RETURNS TO ROMICS ON SATURDAY 01 APRIL 2023, THE EVENT WHICH AWARDS THE MOST IMPORTANT ITALIAN DUBBERS OF ITALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL CINEMA
THE CAREER AWARDS TO ACTORS PIETRO BIONDI AND AURORA CANCIAN
The Romics Dubbing Gran Gala will take place on the occasion of the 30th edition of Romics, the event that gives prizes and recognitions to the best Italian voice actors, protagonists of national and international film and television productions. The Lifetime Achievement Awards will be given to great voic actors in the categories: Male and Female Career Award, Andrea Quartana Award, Ferruccio Amendola Award, Vittorio De Angelis Award, Best Assistant Award, Best Sound Engineer Award and Vocine of the future Award.
The Male Career Award will be confereed to Pietro Biondi, actor from Spoleto who has lent his voice to many film actors: Harvey Keitel in Thelma & Louise and Pulp Fiction, Robert Duvall in Falling Down nd A Civil Action, Donald Sutherland in An Arid White Season, Revelations and Pride and Prejudice. For television, Biondi voiced actor Alan Dale in The O.C., playing Caleb Nichol and Dennis Franz in the NYPD - New York Police Department television series. As an actor he is famous for his role as Chief Constable of Montelusa in the series Il commissario Montalbano.
Aurora Cancian won the Women’s Career Award: the Turin actress began her career in the seventies in the television studios of Rai as a performer of historical plays such as I Buddenbroock. At the cinema, she voiced important actresses, such as Brenda Blethyn, Dianne Wiest, Julie Walters, Mary Steenburgen and Ginger Rogers in some redoubts. In addition, he lent his voice in Disney films such as Red and Toby - Foes and Hercules.
To the young Federico Viola, receives the Andrea Quartana Award, an early talent that divides his career as a voice actor between cinema (Bling ring by Sofia Coppola, The disaster artist by James Franco), a high-profile TV series (The murder of Gianni Versace, Jack Ryan) and anime (Holly and Benji and the Zodiac Knights).
The Ferruccio Amendola Prize goes to Francesco Prando, a Roman actor known above all for being one of the most important Italian voice actors. He has voiced many important actors, from Keanu Reeves to Vince Vaughn, from Matt Dillon to Matthew McConaughey, from Guy Pearce to Hugh Grant and Daniel Craig, from 2008 the new James Bond.
Lucio Saccone won the Vittorio De Angelis Award: Neapolitan, professional voice actor and dubbing director, he has lent the voice to actors of the calibre of Steve Buscemi (At the school of gangsters), Steven Spiers (Pirates of the Caribbean and Eragon), John Malkovich (The Diehardcore)John Savage (Godfather III). He collaborates with the main Italian radio and television broadcasters: Rai, Mediaset, La7, Sky. He is the voice of Rai promos and narrator on DVD and radio.
The Award for Best Assistant goes to Francesca Rizzitiello, while the one for Best Sound Engineer to Saverio Ceraselli. The Vocine Prize of the future Aword will be awarded to: Diego Follega, Anita Sala, Alberto Vannini.
The award ceremony of Romics Grand Gala of the Dubbing will be held, during the XXX Edition of Romics, Saturday 1 April. at 17.30 at the Pala Romics - Great Events and Projections Hall, Pav 8.
